Chinese Lantern Festival

Blog hiatus? Figure it's 2013, so I will give it another go.

Below are some pictures from this past weekend. The Chinese Lantern Festival ended Saturday so we figured we would check it out before it was completely gone.

The Hunger Games

I'll admit I'm a big Hunger Games fan. After some photoshop text tweaking and a couple coats of acrylic paint, I finally completed this project I've had in mind for a while. 

Weekend Art

I am currently working on a couple of designs on small canvas and I had some leftover paint. Since I didn't want it to go to waste I made some color swatches then turned them into triangles.
I then glued these on my poor old thrifted Dynasty book(featured in other projects on this blog) then placed my finished design on a thrifted frame.

Couple of rings now sold on the etsy shop. 

My sister and I visited our local Goodwill Outlet where we scored the beautiful vintage button on the far left.  As soon as we saw the button we knew we wanted to add it to our etsy shop.

I love me some birds..and hearts.

I took a picture of an ostrich when I attended the state fair. I originally wanted a huge oil painting of the animal (it looked so funny). I decided to doodle the other day and I ended up with this:

Last night while I was sitting at home bored I decided to put something on my empty living room wall. A couple of minutes tracing and cutting out hearts and I ended up with this:

Purple Rain

I found this old gradient string when I was home for the holidays so I decided to bring it back to Austin with me. I saw this tutorial and decided to try it for myself. I have enough free time that I started doodling on an old book page and then added some string for "feathers." I'm pretty sure I'll find other random uses for this string.
